I’ve decided to put this up because I’ve slowly been getting more and more questions through my Tumblr Ask and Formspring but the nature of those questions were similar to one another.

I hope you read this before deciding to ask your questions to save both your and my time on the same topics. That way, we can talk about things that haven’t yet been disclosed or just things that are more interesting.

I’ll also be throwing in some bits of trivia about myself time and again, just in case anyone’s interested.

What do you use to create your drawings?

I use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Flash.

Do you use a tablet?

Yes, I do. It’s a small white Wacom Bamboo Fun.

Do you draw using traditional materials?

Yes. I occasionally use watercolor pencils, ink pens, pencils, bristol board and watercolor paper. Sometimes, I also use real watercolor paint.

How old are you?

I’m decrepit at the age of 24 (as of June 2010).

What do you teach?

I’m a preschool teacher and I love teaching 0-3 year old kids. I also taught college freshmen once and would like to try teaching in college again someday.

Can you draw for me for free?

I’m sorry but I don’t draw requests for free because I’ve chosen to become a freelance illustrator which means I earn money by drawing. If I draw for free for one person, others might expect the same thing and I won’t ever earn anything.

Where do you live?

I live in the Philippines, particularly in Metro Manila but I am a child of Davao City.

Can you copy someone else’s style?

I can but I won’t out of respect for that other artist and because I believe I have my own style that is good enough to convey what I want to say.

Can you promote me?

I will if:

• you have original content THAT I LIKE
• you are a good friend or I know you personally
• you represent a good cause that I support

I won’t if:

• you mostly reblog
• you feature stolen content (art or otherwise)
• you have an annoying song playing on your blog
• you post about porn, hate or violence
• you have a sparkly 90s design aesthetic like those in now-defunct Geocities sites
• you asked me arrogantly

Can I use your drawings for my theme/blog/page/website?

No, sorry. My drawings aren’t meant to decorate your personal blog. I’ll probably have to charge you for that. I hope you understand.

Can I use your drawings for my desktop wallpaper/notebook/cellphone wallpaper?

I’ve said yes to this before and I will say yes as long as you don’t do anything to violate my creative commons limitations. That means no distribution without credit, no commercial use and no pretending that it’s yours.

Can I use your drawings on t-shirts/other types of clothing/commercially distributed products?

Like the previous answer, no. I can draw commercially but it’ll have to be a new drawing and you’ll have to specially order for it…and pay accordingly, of course.

Can we be friends on Twitter/Plurk?

I accept friend requests on Twitter but not on Plurk.

How many followers do you have?

I don’t know why people think this is so important but I’ve just passed the 2000th mark (as of June 2010).

What did/are you take/taking up in college/now?

I have a Communication degree and a teaching certificate under my belt and I am currently finishing my MA in Early Childhood Education.

What’s the best advice you can give to aspiring artists?

Practice, don’t compare, aspire but make sure to find your own voice as an artist. And practice some more.

What’s the name of your Tumblr theme?

It’s an edited version of frosted glass by ueberleben.

How did you customize your Tumblr theme?

I drew the header and icons and just fixed the HTML to insert all my customized images.

Can you make me a theme?

No. Sorry. I don’t do customized themes for others.
