The Krabby Patty Wars
I think it’s funny how people just kept reblogging the “Krabby Patty in Manila” ad when it clearly looked false. I also think it’s funny that people got angry over it, saying that one of the first people to post just took it from someone else’s Tumblog and reposted. Although this could have been the case, that person has already said that he found the fake ad on Facebook and did not know who to credit for the photomanipulation and photography.
It’s funniest that people got angry but they did not even think to mention the restaurant that actually made the burger featured in the ad. I’m not sure if I’m right but I think it’s a Chuck’s Deli burger because Chuck’s Deli serves their burgers on chopping boards like in the fake ad. And also, Chuck’s Deli is located in the Serendra Piazza. Just in case people didn’t know, there’s a difference between Bonifacio High Street (Fully Booked to R.O.X.) and the Serendra Piazza (where everything from Sentro to BPI are).
The boyfriend and I both feel that the burgers and shakes from Chuck’s Deli can be a lot cheaper but personally, I enjoy their food. I really like the Chuckatsu but have also tried Jessica’s Meltdown which is their tuna sandwich. If you’re not sure what to get on your first visit, you can try those.
And slightly related to that, during my last visit to Chuck’s Deli, I saw Anton Diaz and his wife and I was giddy like a crazy fangirl. I follow Anton’s blog and refer to him when I want to try out a new restaurant, especially for Yum Yum for Two. Despite initial urges to approach their table, I decided to not be a creepy person and leave them be while they waited for their take-out.
