trulyjentastic asked: hi :) my mom accidentally stained my daughter's pink sneakers with bleach. i was wondering if it is ok to use acrylic paint i found in bookstores to mend it?
Hi! I’m sorry to hear about your daughter’s sneakers. Are the sneakers made of canvas? If they are, I would advice to use fabric paint instead of acrylic because acrylic will flake and chip off.
You can just bleach all of both shoes and then paint over so the color will be consistent or if you’re not sensitive about it, just paint over the bleached area, but I doubt that you’ll find fabric paint that’ll match the original shoe color in NBS.
If you’re feeling a bit creative, you can also draw on the shoes with Sharpies (they come in different colors), make your own new design with fabric paint (and glitter, like I did), or even sew in patches of cute fabric. :D
