Photoset

Here are a few photos of our Komikon Summer de Avance experience.

We arrived around 9:30am at UP Bahay ng Alumni to set up our booth and I was really happy to find out that we had a ton of space to work with. After all, this year, we had a lot of books to showcase as well.

I’m happy and proud to say that Love and Heartbreak sold really well. We got to sell 45 copies in our booth and Psicom (the publisher) sold around 100. Pretty good for a book that had minimal hype before its debut.

My contribution to the book is the story First Love where I wrote the script and colored the pages. I collaborated with my boyfriend’s sister, Elsie Marie Or, who did a phenomenal job of drawing and inking the page. Elsie, thank you for bringing my story to life.

Other writers and artists featured in the book are: Alodia Gosiengfiao, Arvin de Leon, Carlos Reyes, Charles Tan, Cyan Abad-Jugo, Dominic Agsaway, Elbert Or (yey), Harvey King, Joanne Salvacion, Kate Aton, Mark Torres, Panch Alcaraz, Ruben de Vela, Tobie Abad and Yvette Tan.

If you haven’t gotten your copy yet, the book will be out in bookstores in 2 weeks.

Another wonderful piece of news to share is Elbert’s Lola: A Ghost Story sold really well. So well that it sold out hours before the con actually finished. I’m so proud of you!

All in all, it was a great day and I think it’s the most successful comic convention day our group has ever had. I’d also like to congratulate another topnotcher from our booth, Plague. It’s an anthology of horror-inspired works and edited by a great writer who also happens to be my wonderful friend, Fidelis Tan.

If you missed any of our titles or want to catch our new offerings, watch out for us at the Manila Comic-Con in August. You can be sure that we’ll be there!
