Just learned of this today because the fiance is participating. If you have the time, please drop by FREE COMIC BOOK DAY on May 5, Saturday, at Comic Odyssey Galleria to commission a sketch from the participating artists and help Mr. Tony DeZuniga.

Next Saturday, May 5, is FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! Celebrate with the whole world and check out your favorite comic shops! It’s also good to see that a couple of locally published books featuring our local talents will also be given away for free at the Comic Odyssey Galleria branch as well as the Comicxhub warehouse! Artists will also be on-site to accept sketch commissions that would benefit the Legendary Pinoy Artist Tony DeZuniga. Please be there and spread the word!
One of the best things about having creative friends is that I get freebies when they create some kind of merchandise out of their creativity.
Vgrafiks, a rockin’ branding agency and graphic design studio in the Philippines, came out with their own line of messenger bags recently under the label name Demografik. They partnered with artists Valerie Chua, Dan Matutina, Isa Afable, Dex Fernandez, and Kat Yeo to create their first five designs.
Check it out! Each bag originally retails for P1,250 but drop me a message to find out their discounted price.

EVERYTHING MUST GO

Yes, an exhibit. Nope. Not mine. This solo exhibit is the second for artist and Global Art Katipunan teacher Eleanor Giron. The exhibit’s Facebook Events page reads that this exhibit “is an act of catharsis, recollection, and release. The paintings in this series are a response to the transitional experience of loss: of innocence, of childhood and its dreams.”
Read the artist’s statement and find out why she called this exhibit, “Everything Must Go”.

We attended the exhibit’s opening night last January 17 and had a great time witnessing Elie’s hard work come to life. She’s been toiling over her paintings for months, starting way before the Christmas season and it was amazing to finally see what’s become of her artistic journey.

Here’s the artist beside one of her paintings. I decided to place that sunburst on the picture because some people might be too sensitive LOL.

This is us, happily enjoying the exhibit and the yummy food provided by Elie and her mom.
Photos of the paintings after the jump.
