The fiance and I made this comic for a wedding-related contest on DaPattyLaurelBlog for a Braided: Photography by Krissy Rodriguez session. It took us an afternoon to find the right recipe of panels and about a day to finish everything else but it was a great bonding exercise. I definitely recommend collaborating with your loved one! :)

Lola: A Ghost Story | Jesse sees dead people, monsters, demons, and lots of other things that go bump in the night that no one else can see. No one except his ailing grandmother — a woman who used her visions to help those living in her small town. The same rural community in all the scary stories Jesse’s heard as a child. Man-eating ogres in trees. Farmhouses haunted by wraiths. Even pigs possessed by the devil. Upon his grandmother’s passing, Jesse has no choice but to face his demons and whatever else might be awaiting him at grandma’s house.

I impulse bought this today.  There is a 100% chance it will make me cry.

So cool! I remember seeing the boyfriend finish the last pages for this and now people are reading it. ^_^

The boyfriend was invited to contribute artwork for this exhibit and in turn, he invited me to team up with him, seeing as the exhibit is a tribute to one of the most popular couples in our history. Pay tribute to a couple with a couple. Yeah? Yeah.
We brainstormed on it together and it might just be the first real collaboration we’ve ever had since most of the time, I just assist him. We were assigned one of Ninoy’s poems as inspiration and from that, we decided on what to create. The boyfriend sketched it out and I did the rendering. It was pretty cool once we saw the printed version. All original artworks in the exhibit will be on sale, with a frame.
Anyway, here’s the invitation. I’m not sure if the opening reception is open to the public but if you want to view all the artworks submitted by us and by fantastic members of Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan, you can go to the Ortigas Foundation Library, 2nd floor Ortigas Building in Pasig. The exhibit will be up until September 3, 2011.
