Accessories of the Day
Necklace | Sort of DIY
Thirfted owl necklace + ribbon hair accessory
If you want to give your old necklace a new look, just look for a hair clip that goes well with it and clip it on the necklace chain. Try it either above the pendant or on the side.
Glow-in-the-Dark Orange Ring | DIY
Made a bunch of these in different plain colors (pink, blue, purple, yellow and orange) and will be selling them soon. Currently testing them for durability. Also available in multicolored swirl designs.
Details on that project soon. I hope. :)
Comment and suggestions would be much appreciated.

As soon as my eyes spotted these wonderfully offensive shoelaces, I immediately grabbed them. Not a lot of people appreciate neon colors and even I used to hate them but there’s just something about them now that I can’t resist.
It’s a definite plus that I get to walk around with sunshine on my feet.

Also in orange and green!
FEEDBACK: Hand in hand, the boyfriend and I were blinded a couple of times as we looked down to avoid the sun’s glare because of my neon yellow shoelaces. There was no escape. Look up and the sun would burn our eyes, look down and we saw nothing but a miracle waiting to happen (but sadly never did).

I had my InTACT dinner today where I met 2 out of my 3 student facilitators and I decided to wear just a white shirt and jeans. It was an excuse to wear loud accessories, especially the feather earring I made last night. Also first time to wear mismatched earrings, which is kind of cool.
Good thing I had extra earring hooks from when I was still making my own accessories some years back and that I decided to grab feathers from National Bookstore when I was there 2 weeks ago. I went back a few days ago to grab some more but they were all gone. WHY???
I can’t believe how much I spent these past few days, especially when I’m such a penny-pincher. I can’t say that I don’t love these new finds though.
I would have totally bought more from Forever21 if they had more reasonably priced items but the more I go there, the more I realize that a lot of the items aren’t worth the price. I had wanted this neon yellow sleeveless tank top but I died for a second when I saw that it cost Php505. What?! Seriously? And when I felt the material, it was so thin.
A few weeks ago, I already decided to just make my own sleeveless tank top but I have yet to find the perfect shade of neon yellow fabric paint. Yes, I am obsessed with neon right now and I don’t know why. I used to make fun of it but now, I’ve been lured to the dark…I mean, bright side.
There were also lovely heels there that I had wanted to get but the boyfriend decided to make fun of me because he thought that they made me look like I was going off to fight gladiators in an arena. But they were nice, promise. Still, I decided not to get them because they were P1,600++ and I figured I can find something that’s cheaper and better-looking online. The problem is when I shop online for shoes, I’m never sure if they’ll fit me or if they’re comfortable.
Anyway, here are some of the things I recently got that did not make an unrepairable hole in my wallet.

Animal print cape | Olivia & Fifth

Berry Floral bag | TWR

Rope and animal print belt | Forever21
I should probably be declared a shoeaholic by now but how could I resist getting these when they were being sold at 25% off at Nine West? They’re comfy and perfect for the wedding that I’m attending in a few days.
I tried them on with denim shorts at the store earlier and they looked good too. They probably won’t go well with a too casual attire but a dressy top and denim shorts might be fine.
The only problem that I can see is that since they’re made out of suede, they’re going to be a bit tricky to clean. It’s also very easy to get impressions on the material, like say my footprints (you can see them if you take a closer look).
The sexy strap and cute bow details more than make up for it though.
I’ve always admired Danika Navarro’s sense of style, whether it’s applied to fashion or design (look at her typography). Her re-designed bible was one of the Ateneo I.D. theses outputs from year 2010 that impressed me just because of the detail she put in and the scale she took on.
Now, she’s on to making her own line of clothing called La Vie Boheme, if I understand correctly. See all the fantastic photos of her clothes (modeled by Patricia Prieto, Kryz Uy and Jan Aranilla) at her blog, Hello Rio!
Please support and promote local artists and designers. Congratulations to Danika and to everyone who helped her achieve this amazing feat.
I’ve been wanting light wash denim shorts for a while now but couldn’t find ones I liked in the mall and the ones I did like were just too expensive. So I decided to do something my mom once told me not to do - cut my old jeans and bleach them.
I forgot to take a photo of the original jeans but they were from Penshoppe, bought when I was in college and haven’t been worn since 2008. They were really dark denim jeans in a skinny cut.
And now, they’re light wash denim distressed shorts.

I sometimes fold the ends (hem?)

Sometimes not

Here are the details - distressing is stressful

Here are the tools I used to stress the denim
I don’t love any particular brand of clothing but Topshop comes closest to being my favorite brand that’s available here in the Philippines. For months, I’d visit their stores in High Street and Greenbelt 3 but would find nothing to my liking. It was such a big disappointment, especially because they would always be on sale. Still, I found myself going back again and again.
Today, I went in the High Street branch because they seemed like they had new stuff on the racks and I’m looking for a vintage-y dress for a wedding I’m attending next week and to my delight, I found so many potential dresses for the occasion.
Sadly, they all cost more than P3,000. I know these dresses can’t ever be dirt cheap but I know that they’re also not made of gold. Can’t they be priced a little lower? Please? Even a little over P1,000 would be fine.
